A slow GIF often has the right frames but leaves each one on screen for too long. Speeding it up changes those delays so the same sequence reaches its point sooner.

Decide whether the problem is speed or dead time

Use a speed change when the entire animation feels sluggish. Use trimming or frame deletion when only the beginning, ending, or one repeated section wastes time.

A global speed change affects every frame. If a title card needs a longer reading pause but the action should move quickly, speed up the sequence first and then restore a longer delay on that one frame.

Watch readability, not only motion

Reaction motion can survive a faster pace, but captions, interface labels, and step-by-step demos still need enough time to be understood. Preview at the actual size where the GIF will appear.

Know what a speed change does to file size

Changing frame delays shortens playback but does not remove frames. The exported file may not become much smaller because it still stores the same images.
